Main duties of the job

As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester, the role entails traveling across the region to manage and develop teams in various care homes. The responsibilities include leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, focusing on care standards, team motivation, and regulatory compliance. The role requires inspiring a multidisciplinary team to ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life, leading by example through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and implementation of action plans. Candidates must be Registered Nurses (RGN) with current NMC registration and possess a teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualification. Previous experience within a nursing home setting, evidence of continuous professional development, experience managing safeguarding investigations, clinical risk assessments, HR experience, sales and marketing knowledge, and budget management ability are essential.

Experience in helping residents with different health needs is important too, as is a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. We'll also look for some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. You'll be compassionate, resilient and determined to deliver quality care in our engaging and energetic environment. Finally, due to the nature of this role, you must be flexible and willing to travel.
