Main duties of the job

As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester, you will travel across your region to manage and develop the teams in various care homes, ensuring that the high quality care and service we are known for is delivered. You will work closely with the General Manager or hiring manager to implement action plans that meet our residents' needs. Leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager will involve everything from care standards to motivating your team. You will inspire a multidisciplinary team to help every resident enjoy the best possible quality of life, leading by example and monitoring standards. Regular audits, supervising clinical practice, and checking regulatory compliance will be part of your role. You will set the highest standards using your skills to develop and deliver strategies to achieve your goals. A Registered Nurse (RGN) qualification with current NMC registration is required, alongside teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualifications. Previous experience in a nursing home setting and evidence of continual professional development are essential. Experience supporting residents with diverse health needs and managing safeguarding investigations is important. Some HR experience, and knowledge of sales, marketing, and budget management, alongside experience in supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship, is ideal. Compassion, resilience, and determination to deliver quality care are essential for this role, and you must be flexible and willing to travel.
