Perinatal Senior Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity for a senior staff nurse who wants to specialise in perinatal mental health and be part of our dedicated specialist team.

Your role will be providing that experience, knowledge and support to the nursing team, focusing on the quality of clinical care provided. As part of the wider MDT this includes triaging referrals and supporting junior staff to do the same. Improving the quality of care through supervision and audit will be important aspects of the role.

The successful candidates will receive appropriate specialist perinatal training. The shift pattern on the Mother and Baby Unit is three long days three weeks a month which includes weekends and bank holidays. All staff are expected to rotate onto night shifts.

Main duties of the job

Inpatient wards / units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment.  This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder will support staff members in the assessment, planning and provision of care in line with national and local nursing and health and safety policy. The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility demonstrating use of professional skills, knowledge and expertise in the provision of high quality care. There is an expectation that the post holder will utilise research audit and enquiry to lead improvements in care.
