Job summary

You will manage referrals and appointments for patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy and haematology care. You will work closely with patients, nursing teams, pharmacy, consultants and secretaries to make sure treatment plans are organised accurately and on time.

Main duties of the job

Support patients through the referral and appointment process for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and haematology services. Contact patients within 24 hours of receiving a referral and explain what will happen next. Book and co ordinate appointments, making sure treatment schedules are organised accurately and on time. Work closely with nursing teams, pharmacy, consultants, secretaries and other departments to keep patients' care moving smoothly. Gather medical records, images and previous treatment information from other teams and hospitals. Check that insurance approval or self payment arrangements are in place before appointments are booked. Enter and maintain accurate patient information on our hospital systems. Handle all patient information sensitively and confidentially. Provide patients with a professional, compassionate and reassuring service throughout their care.

The confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
