Patient Pathway Administrator

Contract - Permanent - Part- time 30.00 hours per week

This is an acting up position for 9 months

The post The post holder will play an important role in the provision of high-quality administrative support to the Community Children’s Nursing Team.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and an excellent team player who is keep to learn and take up additional responsibility as a band 4 admin coordinator.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of high quality administrative and clerical support to the Childrens Community Nursing Team.

To produce, format and present reports, statistical information and analysis using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.

To collect, collate and produce data for the service

To administer the processes for establishing efficient clinic utilisation; this includes identifying and managing the long waiter with use of the PTL list, processing outcomes, cancelling and rescheduling appointments/clinics and booking interpreters.

To analyse and monitor performance and activity, making use of a range of information. Including the PTL reports, PowerBi and unvalidated Rio notes.

General admin duties e.g photocopying, filing, drafting letters and memorandums as requested, ordering of stationery and office equipment\supplies and other general clerical duties as required.

The post holder will facilitate good communication between staff members and other teams. The post holder will provide a flexible administrative support service across the department as required by workload demands and agreed priorities in liaison with their Manager.

General admin duties e.g photocopying, filing, drafting letters and memorandums as requested, ordering of stationery and office equipment\supplies and other general clerical duties as required.

To deal with telephone enquiries to the department, refer calls to the correct person and take accurate messages, where necessary taking appropriate action.

Person specification

Education

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE
  • A Level/BTEC or equivalent experience
  • NVQ Level 3 In Business Administration or Customer Care Equivalent

Personal Qualities

Essential

  • Committed to ‘patient/client first’ philosophy
  • Confident to work assertively with multi-disciplinary team
  • Team player with collegial working style and willingness to share responsibility

Skills and abilities

Essential

  • Experience in dealing with customer complaints and customer care
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Knowledge and Expereince

Essential

  • Computer literate, with experience of using a variety of computer programmes
  • Knowledge of NHS service provision including the pathway of care
  • Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
  • Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, e.g. PAS, Excel or similar applications
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of Equality and Diversity and its application in the work place
  • Experience of using a full range of IT/patient administration systems
