We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our friendly team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator o

You will work within a specific clinical area to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

You will also provide administrative and medical typing support to all clinical staff within the clinical area including; Consultants, Nurse Specialists and Junior Doctors ensuring effective co-ordination of their diaries and work flow.

Main duties of the job

Courteously and efficiently receive telephone and email enquiries from patients, carers and external agencies in relation to hospital admissions, appointments and general enquiries, ensuring accurate records, both manual and electronic, are maintained and appropriate action is taken in a timely manner.

Receive and process incoming correspondence, paper and electronic, ensuring it reaches the appropriate Place/Person within the required deadlines.Patients in particular require timely communication which can be challenging at times in a highly pressured environment.

Demonstrate high levels of customer care and be an ambassador for customer care within the trust. Act as the communication hub for the clinical team. Be responsible for dealing with, and recording all concerns/complaints coming into the department, both on the telephone and in writing and escalate as appropriate.

Staff will undertake any such training as necessary to perform the    duties which includes the completion of all Mandatory Training within a specified time.  The postholder will work with some degree of autonomy and will be expected to problem solve for their patients within their remit.

Type, from audio-dictation, hand-written or word-processed sources, clinical reports, discharge summaries and correspondence to patients, healthcare professionals and external agencies as required.
