The post includes leading a team of registered and non registered Occupational Therapy staff, working in collaboration with Physiotherapy and other MDT colleagues to assess and treat trauma and orthopaedic patients at Treliske Hospital.

Support and supervision is available from the  Professional Lead Occupational Therapists, Therapy Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics and Stroke and Neurology, plus the other Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team Leads across the inpatient service.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service. To maintain an agreed case load within in the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as an autonomous practitioner. To undertake line manager duties for the team. To work alongside the AHP Urgent Care Manager and Trauma and Orthopaedics Therapy Lead, and the Occupational Therapy Professional Leads, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service. To be instrumental in the on-going development of services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions.
