This is an exciting opportunity to join our recently formed group of early interventions services across the GM area.

Our services currently support service users from the age of 14 up to 65 years of age, and cover Wigan, Bolton, Salford, Trafford and North/Central and South Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to step into a more senior operational role, and to gain experience during a positive time of change and development for our services.

As part of this role you will have access to regular support and supervision to guide you through this experience and you will have the opportunity to bring new ideas and innovations to our new network of services.

Although we envisage that the hours of this role will be within a monday to friday working week, we are happy to discuss options for flexible working.

The post holder will work closely with the clinical services manager, operational managers, and the quality and safety lead for the services on a day to day basis and take responsibility for a group of services within the current portfolio along with the other operational manager.

The identified group of services will be North Manchester EIT, Central Manchester EIT, South Manchester EI and citywide services. This will be based between chorlton house and central park, however this may be subject to change dependant on service need, and the post holder will be expected to provide operational cover to all of the EI EDIT services as required.

Main duties of the job

The Operational Manager will be responsible for the operational and financial management of identified defined service areas, which may include wards, teams and work streams within the specialist service network. He/she will be visible and accessible to staff and service users acting as a role model and champion for recovery and change.

The Operational Manager will ensure that care of the highest standard is delivered and maintained within their identified areas. This will be achieved through the setting and monitoring of key performance standards and ensure the development of the workforce.

The Operational Manager will work closely and collaboratively alongside clinical partners in the service.

The post holder will ensure all interventions and care is delivered and maintained with the needs of patients/service users being central to service provision and development.

The post holder will deputise for the Clinical Manager / Service Manager and cover in their absence, reporting through to the Head of Operations. where required.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
