Occupational Health and Wellbeing Nurse – 8-Week Fixed-Term Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team on an 8-week fixed-term contract.
This role will support the delivery of the annual Flu Vaccination Campaign, helping to provide flu vaccinations to colleagues across the organisation. Flexible working opportunities are available, with a variety of shifts and working days as the campaign will operate as a seven-day service.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within Occupational Health while working as part of a supportive and experienced team. The successful applicant will receive the necessary training to develop the required knowledge and competencies, enabling them to undertake the role confidently and work with increasing autonomy.
The post can be based at either the Royal Lancaster Infirmary or Furness General Hospital
Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the Job
- Work as part of the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team to deliver a high-quality, professional service to colleagues across University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
- Provide a comprehensive Occupational Health nursing service in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, working within agreed standard operating procedures and supporting the maintenance of SEQOHS-accredited standards while upholding Trust values.
- Support delivery of the NHS People Plan and NHS People Promise by promoting colleague health, wellbeing, engagement, and positive workplace culture.
- Support the annual Flu Vaccination Programme, including the safe storage, handling, transportation, and administration of vaccines in accordance with national and local guidance.
- Act as a visible and approachable Occupational Health presence across Trust sites, providing advice, guidance, and support to colleagues and managers.
- Contribute to proactive wellbeing strategies that focus on prevention, early intervention, health promotion, and positive vaccination uptake.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in accordance with professional standards, information governance requirements, and Trust policies.
- Promote a positive experience for colleagues accessing Occupational Health and Wellbeing services, ensuring care is delivered with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
