Nurse Manager CYP | Surgical | Permanent | Full time | Spire Shawfair Park Hospital, Edinburgh

Spire Shawfair Park is now recruiting a Nurse Manager to lead their CYP Department.

Spire Shawfair Park Hospital is a modern, purpose-built private hospital located in south-east Edinburgh. Duties and responsibilities

  • To lead provision of exemplary planned care for patients aged from birth to 16 years
  • Lead specialist in all clinical areas providing specialist education and audit.
  • To ensure the teams delivery of effective care by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Develops a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety, security and safeguards the welfare of children and young persons
  • Develop and improve services

  • Support and enable equality, diversity and rights.
  • Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices.
  • Delegate work to others.
  • Determine the effective use of efficient use of physical and financial resources.
  • Undertake Human Resource activities for all members of the team.
  • Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.

Who we're looking for

  • Be NMC registered Nurse with a Children’s qualification - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Experience of working at clinical leadership/management level within a paediatric department.
  • Have the ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Flexibility is essential for this opportunity to support the needs of the growing service covering inpatients and outpatients
  • It would be desirable to have phlebotomy and paediatric ILS, or be willing to complete a a university course
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients with good time management skills.
  • A surgical background is highly desirable.
  • Appropriate proven leadership and management experience.
  • The ability to manage change enthusiastically whilst assisting to lead, manage and develop the CYP service
