Working with a team of highly committed staff to provide a first class and effective reception and admission service within the Women's and Children's Hospital.
This is a nights position working 2 nights on and 4 nights off and is a rolling 7 day rota to include weekend and bank holidays
You will play a vital role in ensuring the department runs smoothly outside of regular office hours.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety quality and efficiency while working independently but remaining as part of a small team
You must be able to remain calm and deal with issues effectively that may arise during the night shift. You will carry out core operational tasks to support the day staff
You must be bale to do a comprehensive handover to incoming day staff
Main duties of the job
To admit, transfer and discharge patients onto the hospital Patient Administration System following Policies and Procedures.
Liaison with nursing and medical staff and other patient service staff regarding patient admissions, discharges and transfers
Updating of all ward activity and ensuring the hospitals bed state is accurate at all times.
Providing general reception duties on the main reception in the Women's and Children's Hospital .
Providing wards with new notes if required and ID labels. Ensuring accurate tracking of any hospital notes
Recording of attendances outside of clinic ensuring accuracy of outcomes
Using relevant hospital systems in line with the role .
Be accurate and have a high level of attention to detail
Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams using standard Operating Procedures ( SOPS) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales
Undertaking any other duties which may be specifically allocated by the Team Leader or Service Manager.

Essential
- Experience of front of house or customer facing roles
- Demonstrate through experience prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
Desirable
- Experience of lone working or working unsupervised
- Previous history of working in a healthcare environment
Qualifications & Training
Essential
- GCSE Grade C or equivalent qualification in English and one other subject or can show relevant work experience in a previous role
- Keyboard Skills – either through qualification or experience
