As a member of the With Me in Mind team, the CBT therapist will support the delivery of best practice CBT therapy in line with MHST and NICE guidelines.
The postholder will work across the locality and build effective working relationships with school staff, young people, and colleagues within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). The post holder will work closely the Clinical Lead and CBT Lead
Main duties of the job
- To provide clinical expertise within the Mental Health Support Team, providing high quality, and quick access to mental health support to young people in schools and their families or carers. • To support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training by participating in systematic clinical governance. • To work with moderate presentations as part of a stepped care approach within the team, utilising a high level of knowledge and experience and adapting approaches as appropriate, with regard to evidence based practice. • Deliver evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems. • Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist CAMHS services • Supporting/facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing • Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services. • To provide high quality evidenced based supervision (individual and group) to both qualified and trainee EMHP’s around a variety of presenting issues relating to low to moderate level emotional wellbeing and behavioural needs.
