Job overview

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. If it is identified that you require sponsorship to undertake this role your application may be withdrawn

Work base – Mental Health Admin Team (West, South Staffs), Park House, Park Road, Cannock, WS11 1JN.    Hours – Mon-Fri 9 am to 5 pm (30 min lunch)

If you’re at your best when things are busy, changeable and occasionally chaotic, we would like to hear from you!  Organisation matters – and in this role, it really matters.

This role would be ideal for an Administrator who enjoys bringing structure, anticipating needs, handling calls and acting as a calm organised presence within a busy service.   Are you the person people rely on to bring order to a busy day?

Are you a resilient person who is ready for a change in 2026?  If so we would encourage your application or enquiry if you have further questions.   Maybe you have transferrable administrative skills and would like to work for the NHS within mental health services.

No candidate will meet every single desired qualification.  If your experience looks a little different from what we have identified and you think you can bring value to this role, we would love to learn more about you and would encourage you to apply. Training is provided on our Trusts systems, eg our clinical system RIO.

Main duties of the job

  • Answering a large volume of calls to our main 0300 community mental health services, and handling complex queries of a challenging/sensitive nature taking concise accurate messages
  • Administration work for Consultant Psychiatrist/Doctors and other mental health professionals, eg handling queries, diary and clinic appointment management
  • Producing clinical letters (potentially from digital audio dictation)
  • Using own initiative to proactively resolve problems
  • Cohesive working within a centralised admin team
  • Personal resilience to work under pressure in this challenging role
  • Working as a key member of a team of approximately 18 administration staff
