Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Medical Secretary for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department in Care Group 3 for 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, fixed term for 6months.This is a busy, varied and rewarding role in which you will work closely with Consultants, medical and nursing teams and a wide range of administrative colleagues, to provide an efficient and responsive service for our patients.We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to join our secretary administration team. Candidates should possess a professional attitude to their work and have the ability to work flexibly in an extremely busy and rapidly changing environment. You must be fully IT literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge and experience of Meditech is desirable.
Main duties of the job
- The Production of patient/client information letters via audio typing to assist Health Care Professionals in the day to day management of patient care
- Working to deadlines
- Communicating well with staff of all grades and disciplines
- Accurately record and complete patient information maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Undertaking audio transcription, including medical terminology
- Responsible for making appointments as necessary
- Liaising between Trust staff and outside agencies as required
- Organise meetings as necessary, take and transcribe minutes
- Receiving and dealing with telephone and e-mails in a timely and professional manner
