The role:
You will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to Consultant Doctors and Nursing staff within Urgent and Emergency Care at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The role focuses on supporting efficient patient care through high‑quality administrative, clerical, and communication duties.
Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

- Work pattern: Monday–Friday, 6 hours per day, 10:30–16:30

- Providing high‑quality secretarial support to medical and nursing staff
- Handling telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries from staff, patients, relatives, carers, and the Procurator Fiscal’s Office
- Updating medical rotas
- Audiotyping clinic and discharge letters
- Minute taking for meetings
- Ensuring administrative processes support efficient patient care

Handling telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries from staff, patients, relatives, carers, and the Procurator Fiscal’s Office
Updating medical rotas
Audiotyping clinic and discharge letters

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Knowledge of medical terminology is necessary
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages
- Understanding of NHS health & safety requirements and policies
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of PMS TrakCare
