Job summary
Our ideal candidate will have previous Medical Reception experience, although full training will be provided for the right candidate. The position holder will need to be able to handle queries from patients, liaise with other healthcare providers as well as other Practice staff. We are therefore seeking an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Receptionist
SALARY: Depending on experience
PRACTICE: Zetland Medical Practice
LOCATION: Windy Hill Lane Marske and any other location requested by the practice
HOURS OF WORK: Part time, applications welcome as we are looking to recruit approx 26hrs - days and times negotiable (30 min unpaid lunch) and staff may when appropriate be expected to work outside those hours or at weekends if opening times at the practice change. Additional hours of opening would mainly be at Windy Hill Lane, Marske but staff would be expected to work the hours allocated at any other site associated with the practice.
JOB PURPOSE: To provide courteous and effective reception/telephone/administration duties for the practice, ensuring an efficient and professional image is maintained at all times.
DIMENSIONS: Responsible for providing reception support to the practice including administration support to ensure the office runs with a degree of accuracy and efficiency.
KEY AREAS: Greeting and signposting patients in a pleasant and efficient manner
Telephone - making appointments, taking messages and answering queries.
Disseminating home visit requirements.
Amend medication on computer following GP instruction.
Arrange repeat prescriptions for GP signature.
Expertise and knowledge to liaise with the computer help line to resolve any breakdown thereby developing a good working knowledge of the system.
Keeping up to date on computer enhancement being able to receive in and distribute to GPs lab results for acceptance
Photocopying
Scanning
Read coding, data input, searches
Smear administration
Registrations
Summarising
Opening, closing premises deactivating/activating alarm system.
Typing letters/referrals to patients/consultants, general secretarial work
Ensure office policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Any other duties as specified by the Operations Manager/ Reception Manager.
Ensuring an efficient and professional image of the practice is maintained at all times.
Maintaining good relations with a wide range of people.
