
Job summary
We are seeking a reliable, organised and detail-focused individual to join the Admin Team at Hereford Medical Groupin a non-patient facing role. This post is primarily office based and focuses on the accurate processing, management and administration of patient information and practice documentation, rather than direct front of house reception duties.
The post holder will support clinicians and the wider practice team by ensuring that all incoming correspondence, electronic communications and patient records are handled efficiently, confidentially and in line with practice policies and procedures. Although the role does not involve routine face to face contact with patients, it does require professionalism, discretion and a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data accuracy within a healthcare setting.
You will contribute to the smooth day to day running of administrative services, help maintain safe and well organised premises, and escalate any concerns appropriately to a supervisor or manager. The role is well suited to someone who works methodically, takes pride in accuracy, and enjoys supporting clinical services behind the scenes.

Main duties of the job
Job Summary:
- Ensure that all contacts from patients and third parties, over the telephone and electronically, are greeted in a friendly helpful manner and handled courteously, efficiently and confidentially at all times.
- Ensure that all requests and enquiries are handled courteously, efficiently and in line with practice policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the filing and recording of patient information both electronic and manual is promptly handled with care and in line with practice policies and procedures.
- Help to ensure that the surgery premises are kept safe and tidy at all times.
- Support the clinicians in their role.
- Alert a supervisor or manager to any problems or concerns from staff or patients when necessary.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Hereford Medical Group is a large General Practice Surgery providing care for patients living in and around Hereford City. We work across 5 sites with our primary site being a newly purpose built surgery located in Hereford.
