
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Matron within the Medicine & Urgent Care Division.
The role as Matron for the Medical wards in Whiston Hospital will provide day-to-day visible, accessible, and authoritative leadership in clinical areas working as Matron of the day until 8pm and weekends / 9-day fortnight. The post holder will need to be patient-focused, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with competing pressures and priorities which will frequently change.
This role will involve working closely with nursing and medical teams on the wards. The Matron will be expected to create an environment of continuous quality improvement and professional development ensuring that the delivery of high standards of patient care is delivered, and regularly reviewed and that service developments or change are implemented when necessary. The Matron will be a strong effective leader who influences and shapes the patient experience, acting as the patient advocate.
The role requires understanding and expectations of all Trust objectives and core values as the role is pivotal to supporting the senior nursing team, to ensure compliance with Trust objectives, vison and values.
