Procurement Materials Management department is looking for a full time member of staff to join the team at Conquest Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to ensure that an effective and efficient Materials Management service is provided to our customers/patient safety within the Trust, whilst promoting the benefits and developing the services of the Supplies function.
Replenishment of medical goods throughout the Trust, using both NHSSC and Integra ordering systems. Development of value for money initiatives, including cost savings and maintaining a programme of stock takes, stock levels and authorisation reports, to ensure low levels of inventory stock are within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure that wards/department storage areas and systems are maintained to the satisfaction of Materials management and ward/department managers whilst ensuring good Material Management principals are maintained.
- A responsive, professional and caring attitude to customers is essential.
- Order, using hand held computer, put away stock for wards and departments ensuring good stock control principals are adhered to.
- Assist in all other aspects of the Procurement / Materials Management Department as detailed by the Materials Manager or designated supervisor

- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of NHS Supply Chain systems and hospital medical consumable products.
- Manual handling skills
Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of computerised stock control and ordering systems.
- Previous experience of providing customer service
- Experience of Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable
- Experience of automatic data capture bar code re-stocking systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of education, including GCSE’s in English and Mathematics, grade C or above or equivalent
- NVQ 3 in business related subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Desirable
- Warehouse or general retail experience. NVQ’s in business based subject area.
