The Management Accounts Officer is responsible for assisting the Senior Management Accounts Officer and Deputy Financial Management Accountant to maintain specific Directorate budgets. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Directorate budgets which they are responsible for are maintained to a high standard through robust and regular communication with budget holders.
Main duties of the job
- Plan own work to ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate with all staff groups within the finance function. The post holder will be required to communicate with and maintain effective working relationships with staff from all disciplines, providing and receiving highly contentious, complex and confidential financial information.
- Ensure that the reporting of month end information is available with pre-determined deadlines, ensuring high quality information. Be the key contact for budget holders, providing robust information and advice. Provide information to the Senior Management Accounts Officer and Deputy Financial Management Accountant as requested.
- Produce information relating to the Directorate budgets, and provide advice to the appropriate budget holders.
- Work within a customer focused culture with a particular emphasis on providing clear and timely information to non-finance managers.
- Continually review work procedures and make changes to improve the information provided to Budget Holders.
- The post holder will need to be competent in the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing software.
