We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the organisations financial records, supporting management reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Main duties of the job
This role covers end-to-end finance administration, including maintaining accurate ledgers, journals, and reconciliations, processing invoices, payments, and receipts, and managing accounts payable and receivable with timely resolution of discrepancies, while also taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end and year-end close. It involves assisting with budgets and financial forecasts, producing management accounts and financial reports, monitoring expenditure against budget, and ensuring transactions comply with regulations and internal policies. The role also supports internal and external audits by providing documentation, and ensures compliance with UK financial regulations including tax, VAT, and payroll. Payroll responsibilities include processing monthly payroll (deductions, pensions, and statutory payments) and liaising with employees and external providers on payroll queries. Finally, the postholder is expected to help maintain and improve financial systems and processes, identify opportunities for efficiency gains, stronger controls, and cost savings, and contribute to broader finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
- Take ownership of balance sheet management, including the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen financial controls, and deliver cost savings
- Contribute to finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Part-qualified or fully qualified (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or
- equivalent experience.
