We have an opening for experienced and passionate nurses with SACT administration experience who are eager to contribute to the development of our Macmillan Chemotherapy Day Unit. We are seeking individuals who are committed, motivated, and forward-thinking to compliment our existing team and provide exceptional care to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide compassionate, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with Trust values, professional standards, and NMC regulations. Working as a practitioner within the specialist area, they will support the effective delivery of a safe and responsive nursing service, contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a defined group of patients.

They will ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported through effective communication, providing both clinical and psychosocial support.

In collaboration with senior colleagues and the multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based clinical practice in line with current research, national guidance, and Trust priorities. They will maintain clear lines of communication within the specialty team to support cohesive and coordinated care.

The role also involves working collaboratively with wider healthcare teams to enhance knowledge, promote continuity of care across settings, and contribute to ongoing service development and quality improvement within the specialist area.

The post-holder will safely administer SACT in keeping with local and national policy. You will act as a resource, supporting patients and their carers throughout their SACT journey from pre-treatment consultation, pre treatment assessment and treatment until discharge.
