Job overview
The postholder will be appointed within the Cancer Services Directorate at The Royal Marsden and will contribute to the delivery of comprehensive systemic anticancer therapy services for patients with gynaecological malignancies, alongside participation in the Trust’s gynaecological cancers research programme. The postholder will be based predominantly at the Chelsea site but will also be expected to cross cover the Sutton site.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the Acute Oncology Service at the Royal Marsden for all patients. The post holder will be required to participate in the out-of-hours medical oncology consultant on-call rota. This post holder will work in collaboration with the other AOS consultant posts in Chelsea providing:
- Management of patients in the Centre for Urgent Care (CUC)
- Telephone support to the Royal Marsden Hotline
- Provide clinical leadership and support for the effective ongoing development of the service and to attend relevant operational meetings
- A key role in junior doctor educational development and leadership
