Job overview

Are you an experienced operational manager with a passion for improving services for people with Learning Disabilities and their families? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Operational Lead to join our Adult Community Learning Disability Team in Pennine. This is an exciting opportunity to provide operational leadership within a well-established multidisciplinary service.

The All Age Community Learning Disability Team provides specialist, person centred support to children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities. The team works across the lifespan to offer a seamless, consistent pathway of care.

The service brings together a range of professionals — including learning disability nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, to deliver integrated health and social care within the community. The service focuses on promoting independence, reducing health inequalities, supporting families and carers, and enabling people to participate fully in their communities.

Our work includes specialist assessment, risk management, behaviour support, care planning, and partnership working with education, health, voluntary sector organisations, and wider community networks. The team is committed to strengths based practice, positive risk taking, and empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals.

Main duties of the job

As Operational Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the Adult Community Learning Disability Team in Pennine. You will work closely with the Modern Matron and clinical team to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care is delivered while meeting key performance targets.

You will oversee service performance, workforce management, pathway oversight, and quality governance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including those set by the Care Quality Commission.

This role requires strong analytical skills, operational oversight, and the ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership to the Adult Community Learning Disability Team.
  • Monitor and improve service performance, including pathway monitoring and KPIs
  • Provide line management and leadership to designated staff
  • Support workforce planning and recruitment
