We are looking for a Beaker LIMS Analyst to support the delivery and the ongoing operation of the Epic Beaker LIMS, middleware and other systems for the South East London (SEL) Pathology Service. You will be working with operational and clinical teams as well as Synnovis and partner Trust IT teams with the goal of delivering and maintaining a robust LIMS. Who we are looking for:

Main duties of the job

We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join a Synnovis Beaker Team to implement, manage and optimise Beaker across SEL Pathology laboratories. You will be working with the existing Beaker team and wider IT department as well as operational teams in Synnovis and partner Trust clinicians.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
At Synnovis, we are currently shaping the future of pathology services by creating a world-leading Hub and Spoke pathology network with our NHS partners. A large part of this modernisation will involve moving 70% of our services to a purpose built, state of the art Hub laboratory in the heart of London. Key Responsibilities:
- Be a Subject Matter Expert for Epic Beaker Ordercomms, Phlebotomy and Logistics.
- Support the wider Beaker Team and Workstream Leads.
- Work with the operational teams for the delivery and ongoing management of the Beaker LIMS.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with IT, clinical and operational stakeholders.
- Operational management responsibilities for team, including reporting and managing sickness and absence; annual leave; delivery of training and recruitment and retention
- Work collaboratively with other teams and departments in issue resolution.
Applicants who do not hold an Epic accreditation will be required to complete an online aptitude test ahead of an interview, as mandated by Epic. If you are shortlisted details of this test will be shared. If successful you would then be expected to complete relevant Epic Beaker training modules which include sitting of proctored exams and complete an Epic based project. Synnovis is a pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS, including sites, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to deliver and transform pathology services across South East London. The partnership provides services to 1.7 million people living in South East London, as well as to hundreds of thousands of patients from outside the region who use local healthcare services. The partnership provides diagnostics, testing and digital pathology for hospital trusts, GP services and other healthcare providers. Synnovis’ Corporate HQ; housing our Finance, Procurement, HR, Service Improvement and Business Development teams. We have a relaxed, but professional atmosphere with monthly corporate updates to keep you informed on our progress. Currently our offices are based in Blackfriars SE1 8NZ, situated 5 minutes from Southwark station you will have easy access to the vibrant South Bank and local amenities.

Essential
- Excellent organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to resolve problems and make decisions based on complex facts using appropriate analysis, interpretation or comparisons
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including clinical staff and senior management
- Able to demonstrate a strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to specified deadlines
Experience
Essential
- Expertise and experience in a pathology or healthcare setting
- Understanding of EHR and LIMS systems in a complex healthcare environment
- Experience of analysis skills including requirement gathering, process mapping, workflow design and documentation
- Understanding of the implications of data quality on clinical safety and governance
- Good understanding of information governance and information security
- Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
- LIMS implementation / integration experience
- Experience in a pathology laboratory setting
- Understanding of how analysers and other laboratory equipment interface with a LIMS
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical and operational workflows and processes within a pathology department and how these interact with other hospital departments
- Experience of clinical and operational reporting for both internal and external stakeholders
- Order comms experience
- Understanding of regulatory bodies and accreditation services with respect to pathology
