We have an exciting secondment opportunity for 1 year as a Labour Ward Co-ordinator.
You will join our existing team of coordinators and work across our two sites, this will help to develop your skill set and introduce you to the role of Labour Ward Coordinator
As a Midwife Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of the activity on the labour ward.

Main duties of the job
- Leading and managing the team, providing expert clinical midwifery care.
- Setting and monitoring performance standards for both activity and staff, ensuring a high-performing and supportive working environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate and effective care for all women.
- Offering expert leadership advice to enhance midwifery practice.
- Taking a proactive role in the development of midwifery within the unit and beyond.

Person specification
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of 3 years sound clinical midwifery experience.
- Evidence of participation in risk and clinical governance agendas.
Desirable
- Experience of management of a team
Communication
Essential
- Evidence of Professional Communication to all members of the MDT
- Evidence of appropriate and timely escalation
Education, Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Midwife
- Relevant Degree or evidence of further study and experience to the equivalent
- Evidence of further study at post registration level.
- Conversant with change management and service innovation processes
- Demonstrate awareness of current professional issues.
- Computer and keyboard literate
Desirable
- Evidence of Leadership Courses/Qualification
