Are you an experienced Emergency Department nurse with a passion for delivering excellent care?
We have an opportunity for Senior staff nurses / Junior Charge nurses to join our dynamic and developing team in the new Emergency Department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
As Sister / Charge Nurse you will help lead and manage the department so that high quality, evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients and their carers.
You will be an integral member of our team whom who maintain our on-going achievement of the emergency access standards.
You must be committed to providing high quality nursing care; you will provide strong leadership and mentorship to junior staff and help support the senior team.
You will be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model. In working in a progressively changing environment you will promote the Trusts values and be committed to high standards of service delivery.
There is a dedicated Professional Development Team that supports to develop your skills not only as a clinical expert but as a leader and manager.

Job responsibilities
While working as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse within the ED team you will provide care to a range of patients within your scope of practice. To contribute to the delivery of high standards of nursing care. The post holder will be required to take charge of specific areas of the department or as a whole and assist with the smooth running of the department whilst being supported by the band 7 team and professional development training team.

Essential
- A minimum of 2 years' post-registration Band 5 experience within an Emergency Department or other acute hospital setting, with evidence of transferable skills relevant to Emergency Care.
- Extended clinical skills relevant to the Emergency Department nursing.
- NMC recognised Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards within 18 months of commencement of post.
- Understanding of policies and legislation relevant to the ED.
Desirable
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification
- Advance life support trained.
- Trauma Course.
- Experience of managing a team.
