As an Junior Infrastructure and Cloud engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of day to day services within the Infrastructure team. As part of small multi-disciplined team you will be jointly responsible for the following (but not limited to) technologies Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms, Monitoring services and Public Cloud services (Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance.

Main duties of the job
SLAM have widely adopted cloud platforms and the role will be to support the develop of native cloud applications or refactor existing legacy systems for cloud using IAAS, SAAS, PAAS and Kubernetes systems. Being a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud technical expert, you must be able to adapt your knowledge to new, emerging and legacy technologies covering as technical reference in the absence of other senior team members to maintain service for customers. A proactive worker thinking outside the box to maintain or reinstate service for customers driving efficiency.
Service Delivery falls within the Digital Services umbrella, which follows the ITIL standard of Service Management, empowering technology and process to ensure the customers have the best possible end result. You will be a senior technical influence in the Technical Services section in improving, maintaining and documenting new and existing Digital services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Provide Technical Services for Identity Services, Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms, Monitoring services and Public Cloud services ((Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance.
- BAU Administration of the groups platform services for Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems,
Containerized platforms Monitoring services and Public Cloud services ((Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance.
- Monitor the trusts Infrastructure Services platform to make sure that service levels are met for the customer
- Infrastructure design and implementation for new services with external support as required.
- Undertake evaluations of new and emerging technologies and make recommendations regarding their suitability and possible implementation
- Maintain and document services in accordance with Trust systems
- Support and mentor team members as required for personal development and knowledge transfer
- Other activity from time to time as required to support the operation of Infrastructure Service’s
- Abide to the department and trusts policies and procedures
Communications and Working Relationships:
The role will require a proactive approach to working relationships and could entail working with any vested partner of South London and Maudsley NHS trust.
