We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Workforce Intelligence team and support the delivery of an effective, high quality workforce information service and the local implementation of the N&M job profiles review.

Main duties of the job

We will be looking to you to lead and manage the Job evaluation process end to end, co-ordinating panels, appeals and training sessions, and maintaining related systems such as IJES and ESR.  You will provide support to relevant projects and play a key part in the local implementation of the national review of N&M job profiles and maintenance of MS forms and automation.

The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to engage and motivate others and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of job evaluation is essential .  Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Forms and Power Automate would be an advantage.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The primary focus will be leading and managing the Job Evaluation process alongside ESR (Electronic Staff Record) workforce analysis activities including work structures maintenance, information analysis and presentation.

The post holder will also provide support to other workforce projects related to Workforce Planning and Intelligence, including MS forms and automation and development of generic job descriptions/roles. The postholder will have broad knowledge and experience and will be expected to work autonomously in exercising their own initiative and judgement to manage their workload, lead some project workstreams, make decisions and proactively deal with most issues independently overcoming obstacles encountered in achieving key result areas.

  • Experience of manipulating large datasets
  • Experience of data analysis, interpretation and presentation
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of supervising staff

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a Workforce Information role
  • Experience of delivering training

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of information analysis, interpretation and presentation
  • Specialist knowledge of ESR including BI report development
  • Ability to work with large datasets including analysis, reconciliation from various sources and presentation
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office 365 software especially excel and Power BI
  • Report writing skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Specialist knowledge of AFC terms and conditions, other relevant legislation and associated procedures
  • Ability to act on own initiative, plan and organise a broad range of activities and adjust plans at short notice where necessary
  • Ability to undertake software training, both externally and internally
  • Willingness to embrace change with enthusiasm/drive
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and present complex information insights to a variety of audiences

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Workforce Information issues and tools/resources available to support the workforce planning process
  • Knowledge of tax, NI contributions, statutory conditions and NHS Pension scheme
  • Advanced MS Office

Education Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent level of experience supplemented by short courses to support development and job-related knowledge
  • Certificate or Diploma in MS Office or equivalent IT qualification

Desirable

  • Degree in statistical field
  • Training qualification or equivalent experience
  • CIPD qualified
