Job Overview
- Good working knowledge of healthcare systems would be beneficial; however, this role is also a great opportunity to move into health care, and safeguarding, from other business sectors, bringing transferable skills and work / life experience.
- To provide efficient office admin support to integrated safeguarding services.
- Within this administrative role, the post holder will be party to some sensitive and distressing safeguarding information, although full support will be given at all times.

Main duties of the job
Communication and Working Relationships
The post holder must have good interpersonal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with the following individuals, services and organisations:
- Integrated Safeguarding Services team members
- CFT/RCHT staff
- Multi-Agency Referral Unit
- Safeguarding Services, Cornwall Council
- Staff within the Cornwall Health Care Community
- Devon & Cornwall Police Vulnerable Adult Officers
- Service Users and Carers
- Care Coordinators
Administrative
- Support the management of inbox enquiries about Safeguarding related issues from statutory agencies, care homes, staff, service users and families of service users
- Receive and process referrals of abuse and neglect incidents
- To provide admin support to the Multidisciplinary Integrated Safeguarding Service requiring flexibility and willingness to learn
- Support the single point of access and deal with telephone queries, typing correspondence, maintaining stores, opening and sending post, ensuring invoices are authorised and paid, maintain shared drives, basic office maintenance, maintaining accurate staff rota.
- To provide administrative support for the Children’s, Adult and Maternity safeguarding team and other Safeguarding Practitioners when required
- Regular use of Word and Excel documents
- Minute taking for a range of Integrated Safeguarding Services meetings ·

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

- NVQ 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- RSA III typing/word processing or equivalent ability
- Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel

- ECDL or equivalent
