To be part of a flexible team providing project management and change management skills and expertise focused on the delivery of the move of the Trust's Airwave radios to the new SCL3 radios handsets.

As a Project Manager, the post holder will be required to lead the project, engaging with Stakeholders across SCAS to ensure a smooth transition and appropriate communication to all.

The responsibilities will include management of the full project lifecycle, including project handover to ‘business-as-usual’, post-project evaluation and sharing lessons learned across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a senior manager within South Central Ambulance Service, you will be required to provide leadership to your team to ensure the effective provision of the service they provide and to champion change in the organisation. You will ensure that your staff are motivated and express a positive attitude towards the organisation. You will address any issues and concerns that may inhibit your staff from achieving both of them  personal and organisational goals.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly, as needed to support the successful delivery of the changes required by SCAS to meet its strategic goals. The work programme will be identified by the Transformation Programme Director either directly or via the Senior Programme and Project Manager(s), with specific duties and responsibilities defined for each work allocation. Over time, it is likely that the role will include the following range of duties and responsibilities.

This needs to include clarification of the benefits expected as an outcome of the project, as well as the scope, quality standards, targets, budget, timeframe and any other constraints for the changes required.

Develop the business case for the project, usually including an options appraisal, using data and information to ensure that proposed changes are compatible with strategic objectives and commissioner requirements, that timescales are realistic and that they are financially robust.
