An exciting development opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join our team during a very challenging time for the NHS. You will be working in a fast paced, yet rewarding environment, which provides an ideal opportunity to influence the future direction of the People and Culture agenda within SAS.

Working at a strategic and operational level with senior managers, trade union partners and staff, you will have a key role in promoting the NHS values by focusing on key deliverables for SAS in regard to current and future workforce resourcing and capacity, culture and wellbeing and partnership working. It is essential that you have experience of managing complex HR issues, working in a highly structured unionised environment and with an excellent working knowledge of current employment law.

You will report to the Deputy Director of People and Culture, but you will be required to work autonomously. You will be assigned a specific national portfolio to assist in the delivery of the Directorate’s workforce objectives. You will have well developed leadership skills and experience, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be confident in dealing with staff and managers at all levels.

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification relevant to the role, and must hold Chartered Membership of the CIPD. Knowledge of NHS Scotland terms and conditions would be desirable. The precise location for this post is flexible and regular travel within Scotland will be required.
