An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join our People and OD Directorate. Working closely with senior leaders across designated Care Groups and Directorates, you will provide strategic HR expertise and support to help deliver the Trust's vision of outstanding patient care, being a brilliant place to work, and a leader in child health.
You will support the development and delivery of workforce strategies that align with Trust objectives and the People Plan. You will play a key role in driving colleague wellbeing, engagement, inclusion, and organisational performance, ensuring our people agenda supports the delivery of high-quality services.
Working collaboratively with the Resourcing Team and wider People and OD Directorate, you will contribute to the development of workforce solutions that meet both current and future service needs.
About You
- CIPD qualification and membership
- Specialist HR knowledge and experience, at Masters level or equivalent level of experience
- Significant and diverse experience in People and Organisational Development, partnering with managers to deliver high-quality HR services and achieve positive workforce outcomes.
- Expert knowledge of current HR issues, employment practices, and workforce developments at local, regional and national levels.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Head of People Business Partnering, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead HR Business Partner support for designated Care Groups and Directorates.
- Provide strategic HR advice to leaders and managers, supporting the delivery of the Trust's People Plan.
- Develop workforce strategies to improve engagement, wellbeing, inclusion, recruitment, and retention.
- Monitor and report on workforce performance indicators and people objectives.
- Act as a key member of the Care Group leadership team, contributing to wider operational and strategic discussions.
- Analyse workforce data and support managers to implement effective workforce solutions.

Essential
- Strategic planning and delivery, including development of strategic HR plans which impact across an organisation
- Must be able to make an impact at all levels within the organisation to motivate and enthuse others of the need for change
- Expert knowledge of key current issues in human resources, across local, regional and national networks and the ability to apply this knowledge to the Trust’s people strategy
Desirable
- A skilled facilitator
- Strong coaching skills
Experience
Essential
- Significant and varied experience in People and OD activity, working with managers to deliver high quality HR services with proven successful outputs
- Experience of contributing to workforce planning, setting project vision, objectives, monitoring and reporting progress
- Significant experience working in large/complex unionised organisations at senior level (NHS or equivalent)
Desirable
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of workforce analysis and benchmarking
Qualifications
Essential
- Specialist HR knowledge and experience, at Masters level or equivalent level of experience
- CIPD qualification and membership
Desirable
- Chartered MCIPD or equivalent CIPD advanced diploma (Level 7) with commitment to upgrade within 12 weeks
