  • Endoscopy Unit

Main duties of the job

  • This role supports nurses in giving care to patients in hospital wards.
  • You will help patients with washing, eating, drinking and going to the toilet.
  • You will check and record things like temperature, pulse and blood pressure.
  • You will help move patients safely and take them to other parts of the hospital.
  • You will keep the ward clean and tidy and help with paperwork and phone calls.
  • You will work with nurses and other staff to make sure patients feel safe and cared for.

Essential

  • Sufficient experience to demonstrate a good understanding of clinical care in a hospital environment
  • Can describe the Trust Values and demonstrate how they put these into practice within their caring role
  • Good understanding of Poppy's Promise

Desirable

  • Previous hospital experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE in Maths and English grade 3-1 ( D-G) Functional Skills L1 or higher

Desirable

  • GCSE in Maths and English grade 9-4 ( A – C) Functional Skills L2 or higher
  • Level 2 Diploma in clinical Healthcare support NVQ Level 2 in Care or demonstrate a commitment to work towards the diploma qualification

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Evidence of the ability to work with a variety of teams, in a number of different acute settings, on a daily basis, to achieve a common goal
  • Is aware everyone has different feelings and values and is aware of the need to respect and acknowledge those of other people at all times.
