We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who possesses the enthusiasm and determination to succeed in this exciting role.
The post holder will coordinate device movements and management within their local equipment library, with the aim of providing medical equipment that is fit for service to the right patient at the right place and in the right location.
The range of tasks that fall out from this aim will be carried out to the highest standards to enable clinical staff to provide quality and timely care to patients.
Working within agreed protocols and under the direction of more senior members of the team, the successful applicant will be required to carry out a range of tasks, to support the supply of medical equipment to clinical teams.
Some broader responsibilities will be rotated over time across the peer group to suit the needs of the service and this will be done through agreement with the post holder, via the appraisal and objective setting process. Added to these duties the post holder will be required to attend meetings, undertake audits, contribute to incident investigation, problem solving and policy review.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed in the course of fulfilling their duties.
The post holder may on occasions be required to work within other areas of the Health Board.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will coordinate device movements and management within their local equipment library, with the aim of providing medical equipment that is fit for service to the right patient at the right place and in the right location.
Whilst working under the direction of senior team members and within agreed protocols the post holder will be expected to otherwise prioritise and organise their daily work.
Undertakes planned maintenance on medical devices when required. Undertakes repairs to medical equipment when required and when considered competent to do so.
Contributes to the development and delivery of team and service objectives.
Assists and supports others in delivering technical solutions involving medical equipment.
Required to act independently within guidelines, referring to supervisory management when appropriate.
Supports and works with medical device service contractors in the discharge of their duties.
Contributes to maintaining standards within the department. At all times operates in accordance with Health Board policies and procedures.
Actively contributes to the maintenance of the medical device inventory.

- Working knowledge of electronic, electrical / mechanical engineering.

- Eligibility for membership of IPEM RCT.
