We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring Healthcare Assistant to join our wonderful Community Nursing Team in Stroud.
The successful applicant will work autonomously to deliver care to adults in their homes guided by the nurse lead in the team. The applicant will have a good understanding and experience of caring for adults who require clinical skilled interventions aimed at maintaining their health and reducing hospital admission .
Main duties of the job
The job involves providing a high standard of care to persons requiring interventions such as wound care , care of diabetes, venepuncture and monitoring of health in line with Trust policy and procedures.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working as part of an integrated team alongside nurses, GP's and other health professionals.
Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation and clear understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding policies. )
Following infection prevention and control procedures including using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
Maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.
You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards. All successful applicants will also have an opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking further development such as Student Nursing Associate training.
