Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Health Advisor to join the team at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire sexual health services. We are a busy patient focused service providing HIV and sexual and reproductive healthcare to the population of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Our main hubs are GU Medicine at Nottingham City Hospital and Retford Hospital and Worksop. There are many spoke and outreach clinics throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

We are looking for someone with sexual health experience, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of the multi disciplinary team .

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist nursing care by assessing, examining and treating patients with sexually transmitted infections. Carrying out partner notification and health promotion. Safeguarding vulnerable patients, child and adults. Support and signpost patients with risk reduction to improve their sexual health. Take responsibility for the care of a caseload of Sexual Health patients requiring specialist Sexual health care. Provide advice, information, education and counselling to patients who attend the department and to those who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection or require contraception. Work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist advice to clients within the hub, spoke and outreach clinics.

The successful applicant will be required to work at the Retford and Worksop clinics as well as Nottingham City Hospital and Victoria Health Centre.

The post holder will be expected:- To provide specialist nursing care by assessing, diagnosing and planning care to meet the needs of Sexual Health Patients. To take responsibility for the care of a caseload of Sexual Health patients requiring specialist Sexual health care. To provide advice, information, education and counselling to patients who attend the department and to those who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection or require contraception. To work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist advice to clients within central, peripheral and outreach clinics. Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required. Adhere to trust policies and participate in future developments within the service.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
