Job summary

Beacon Medical Group is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated General Practice Nurse to join our experienced and supportive clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a primary care setting. You will play a key role in promoting health and wellbeing, supporting patients with preventative care, and providing a wide range of nursing services across our practices. Main duties of the job

As a General Practice Nurse, you will work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care. Your responsibilities will include: Running health promotion and well-person clinics. Delivering childhood and adult immunisation programmes. Providing travel health advice and vaccinations. Supporting patients with lifestyle changes including smoking cessation, weight management, exercise, and alcohol awareness. Performing cervical cytology screening. Venepuncture and specimen management. Wound care, dressings, suture removal, and injections. Ear irrigation and ECG recording. Managing minor illness presentations within your competence. Supporting minor surgery clinics where required. Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with NMC standards. Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits. Supporting infection prevention and control standards across the organisation. Identifying and appropriately escalating safeguarding concerns. Independent prescribing responsibilities may be included for suitably qualified candidates. The post holder must be flexible and able to work across multiple Beacon Medical Group sites as required.

Job responsibilities

You will be working as a General Practice Nurse providing a high level of care for patients in accordance with the guidelines of the UKCC Code of Professional Practice and the Scope of Professional Conduct.
