The Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP) is committed to delivering technological system improvements to Ambulance Trusts which will ensure and enhance interoperable communications between Ambulance Trusts, the NHS, and other emergency responders. ARP offers the opportunity to work within a technology and mobile communications programme that makes a real difference to ability of the ambulance service to respond to the needs of its patients. ARP require A fully qualified Finance Manager is required to assure the Programme meets its financial objectives, ensure financial governance and to provide support to the individual Ambulance Trusts on finance related matters ensuring wide stakeholder engagement. The Finance Manager will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive financial management services within the Ambulance Radio Programme which will encompass all programmes and projects under ARP’s remit
Main duties of the job
The core functions of the role are, but not limited to: Lead the management of the in-year financial position of the Programme, Prepare and publish the monthly ARP Finance Report, Lead the Financial Management team, Support the development of the Finance Analysts, Support Project Managers in the forecasting process, Support the Head of Finance with the annual budget setting process

Although the team is delivering complex programmes on behalf of the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), the team is hosted by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, which means the successful candidate will enjoy all the benefits that working for an NHS Foundation Trust has to offer. - CCAB Qualifid Accountant
- Significant relevant work experience, i.e. working at Senior Level within Finance, preferably in the NHS or the Department of Health & Social Care or similar commissioning environment.
- Able to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for their role.
Desirable
- Extensive post qualification experience
- National Health Service experience
