This is an exciting opportunity for a bright and motivated qualified accountant to step into a senior finance role within the Integrated Specialist Management Clinical Group.
Main duties of the job
The Finance Manager provides business partnering support to their clinical directorates in all their monthly, annual and ad hoc financial performance and planning activities.
They are responsible for reviewing the month end Directorates positions, the completion of monthly forecasts and consolidation of a directorate monthly performance report, in consultation with the Directorate General Manager and the ISM Deputy Head of Finance , and presenting these at Directorate meetings. They will support their Directorate’s annual financial planning process and undertake costings of service developments and savings plans.
The Finance Manager co-ordinates the workload and sets the objectives and priorities for their area, but routine monthly reporting and analysis tasks are delegated to the AGM - UEC Financial Analyst.
The Finance Manager, alongside the Deputy Head of Finance , will act as the designated Financial Management representatives at Directorate operational meetings.

The post is hybrid home/office working, with attendance at the Beckett House and Great Dover Street finance offices, additionally on site at St Thomas' & Guys hospital's for meetings, as required.

Essential
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance managers.
- The ability to communicate contentious information.
- Highly developed analytical skills to solve highly complex financial and non-financial problems.
- Strong leadership qualities
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NHS financial environment.
- Experience of managing the budget setting process, developing cost improvement strategies and providing comprehensive financial advice to non finance managers
- Considerable staff management experience.

- CCAB Professional Qualification
- CPD record complying with membership of relative accounting body
