We are looking for a passionate and motivated Family Weight Management Lead to inspire children, young people and families to make positive, lasting lifestyle changes and lead healthier lives. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape a dynamic family weight management service, delivering engaging, evidence-based support across schools, community settings and virtual platforms.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Family Weight Management service, ensuring the achievement of annual KPIs, targets, and positive outcomes for children, young people, and families. The role will involve managing and motivating a team of Healthy Lifestyle Advisors, overseeing the delivery of engaging healthy lifestyle interventions across schools, community settings, telephone, and virtual platforms, and developing evidence-based programme content and resources. The postholder will work closely with Public Health colleagues, NCMP teams, healthcare professionals, schools, and community organisations to maximise engagement, strengthen referral pathways, and support families with more complex needs through a collaborative multidisciplinary approach. Responsibilities will also include monitoring service performance and data, driving continuous improvement and innovation, maintaining high standards through quality assurance and governance processes, supporting staff recruitment and development, delivering presentations and promotional events, and contributing to wider healthy lifestyle initiatives and partnership meetings. This is a fast-paced and evolving role requiring excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Job responsibilities
In this rewarding leadership role, you will drive the successful delivery of the service by co-ordinating innovative programmes, developing age-appropriate healthy lifestyle education, and empowering families with the knowledge, confidence and support to improve their wellbeing. You will lead and support a small team of Healthy Lifestyle Advisors, build strong relationships with schools, childrens centres and healthcare professionals, and play a key role in increasing engagement and ensuring the service achieves its yearly targets and outcomes.
You will be supported by a wider operations team and internal multidisciplinary team (MDT), giving you the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced professionals who are equally passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of families.

Your key responsibilities will be:
Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Family Weight Management service to ensure achievement of annual KPIs, targets and outcomes.
Manage, support and motivate a team of Healthy Lifestyle Advisors to deliver high-quality interventions across schools, community settings, telephone and virtual platforms.
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate healthy lifestyle interventions for children, young people and families through group sessions, workshops and one-to-one support.
Working closely with Public Health colleagues and NCMP to maximise engagement, referrals and programme uptake.
Develop, review and update evidence-based programme content, educational resources and healthy lifestyle materials to ensure sessions remain engaging and impactful.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with schools, childrens centres, healthcare professionals, community organisations and other stakeholders to promote the service and strengthen referral pathways.
Work collaboratively with the internal multidisciplinary team (MDT), including healthcare professionals and external partners, to support families with more complex needs.
Monitor service performance, referral pathways and engagement data, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
Ensure high standards of service delivery through quality assurance processes, staff observations, audits and clinical governance procedures.
Support the delivery and development of wider healthy lifestyle initiatives and integrated wellbeing pathways where appropriate.
Deliver presentations, workshops and promotional events to professionals, stakeholders and community groups to raise awareness of the service.
Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of staff and volunteers.
Produce accurate reports and maintain service data in line with organisational and commissioner requirements.
Attend and contribute to internal meetings, steering groups, MDT discussions and relevant partnership meetings.
This role will be demanding as services develop and should become integrated in all settings. It will be essential that you use your own judgement to prioritise competing demands and workload effectively to specific timescales.
