Family Therapist- CAMHS Eating Disorder Team

Job summary

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic Family Therapist to join our CAMHS Eating Disorders Team.

This post is fixed term for 10 months and for 2 days weekly (maternity cover)

Ideally, you will be an experienced and qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with current UKCP registration and have experience of clinical leadership and working with complex mental health needs in community settings.

It is necessary for applicants to have a core mental health profession and to remain registered within that profession.

The team currently consists of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, family therapy, child and adolescent psychotherapy, dietetic and occupational therapy staff who work closely with outpatient, inpatient and adult services.

Alongside this we have a Home Intervention Team Within the core team we offer early specialist assessment and intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people up to the age of 18 years old and their families.

The team is based in central Leicester and are especially keen to hear from candidates who reflect the diverse communities we serve.

Key elements of the role will include (but not be limited to): Providing Family Therapy-Anorexia Nervosa and Family Therapy-Bulimia Nervosa within CAMHS EDT Providing specialised Systemic Psychotherapy within CAMHS EDT Offering systemic advice, consultation, supervision and training to members of the MDT.

Main duties of the job

The Successful Candidate will:

Have the qualifications and experience as highlighted in the Person Specification, including post qualification experience in working within children and young people with complex mental health needs.

Have knowledge and expertise in child and adolescent mental health and the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and common co-morbidities.

Preferably have experience in working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and a well-developed understanding of how such conditions may interact with eating disorders.

Systemic Supervision will be provided, and training opportunities will be available.
