Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities Services team, part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This role is based at Highbury hospital NG6 9DR. Highbury hospital is an NHS property primarily serving as a hub for regional mental health, forensic, and support services.

This position is part-time, working 25 hours per week, 5 out of 7 including weekends and bank holidays. The primary responsibility is to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises, following strict infection control and health and safety guidelines. Full training will be provided for all duties, and uniform will be supplied.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful applicant may be required to cover other areas when needed. It will be a mix of Domestic/Porter/Laundry and response. The ability to work effectively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a high standard of work, is essential.

Full in-house training will be provided to support your personal development, and you will be supported with all required training. Uniform will also be supplied.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
