Job summary
We are looking for an Experienced General Practice Nurse to join our enthusiastic forward thinking team who is interested in developing a long term career in General Practice within a busy Inner City Practice. You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and worked specifically in a GP Primary Care setting.
General Practice Nursing is a hugely rewarding area of nursing. You will help patients to manage their own conditions, such as Asthma, Diabetes, or Cardiovascular Disease. You will help them to stay well and promote healthy lifestyles whilst also assessing, screening and treating people from small children to the elderly.
Key Childhood Immunisations.
The position is for a minimum of 8 -16 hours per week over 1-2 days to be agreed with successful candidate.
We are seeking someone who is a team player, who has a flexible approach to work who is keen to learn and who is willing to undergo further training.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care as per -scope of NMC registration criteria. The job role will include vaccinations and immunisations, cervical cytology, LTC/QOF management reviews as the core duties in the 8hrs- 16hrs working hours. The Practice will support any necessary additional training costs specifically for training requirements/updates in order deliver clinically safe care as per scope of professional registration

We have two GP Partners training practice complimented by a salaried GPs, GP/F2 Trainees and a friendly reception team. We have full access to a range of ARRS staff including a Care Coordinator, General Practice Assistant, First Contact Physiotherapist and Clinical Pharmacist.

Fridge Temperature Recording
Check all emergency equipment and drugs as per CQC recommendations ensuring records are up to date.
Know the health and safety policies and procedures within the workplace, including fire procedures, maintaining accurate
Documentation, consent, sharps and needlestick injuries.
Be aware of the Adult/Child safeguarding procedures, local guidance and referral criteria

Take responsibility for own developmental training and performance, including participating in clinical supervision and
annual appraisals
Work with Practice Manager on any new training requirements
To recognise and understand the role and responsibilities of individuals working in the clinical team

Undertake diagnostic, health screening and health promotion at consultation/ opportunistically..
Provide administrative and all nursing tasks as necessary within the GP Practice
Provide specific evidence based practical skills and knowledge in telephone and clinics for if required during daily duties eg basic minor illness,basic emergency contraceptive, self care, diet and health management

- UK registered nurse with post registration experience
- Nurse qualification
- Clinical experience in a Hospitals and/ or Primary Care
- Ability to maintain and monitor high standards of care
- Ability to direct and co-ordinate programmes of care working autonomously and collaboratively
- Effective organisational skills
- Evidence of experience in embracing and implementing change to provide high quality health outcome
- The ability to work in a changing, demanding and stressful situation
- Communication skills- both verbally and in writing at all levels
- IT systems skills
- Friendly and approachable
- Good presentation of self, enthusiastic, innovative and flexible
- Self-motivated, positive and committed
- Continue education by attending courses/study days as deemed useful for professional development
- Must keep abreast of changes and progress in nursing care.

- Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatment
- Be flexible in order to cover annual leave and sickness of team members.
