The Communications and Engagement Officer will lead on community engagement, partnership development and communications activity for the One You Kent Service across a defined locality (East or West Kent), supporting county-wide priorities where required.
The postholder will work at neighbourhood and community level to build strong, lasting relationships with local partners, raise awareness of the service and increase appropriate referrals. This includes engagement with a wide range of stakeholders such as local authorities, primary and secondary care, PCNs, leisure services, community and voluntary sector organisations and local residents.
Alongside face-to-face engagement, the role will take responsibility for delivering effective digital, marketing and media activity to promote One You Kent, ensuring consistent, engaging and accessible communications across all channels.

This is a varied, dynamic role requiring flexibility, organisation and confidence in working independently and collaboratively. No two days will be the same.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will support the delivery of the ABL Community Engagement Strategy across designated service areas, building strong relationships with local partners, GP practices, and Primary Care Networks to increase awareness of One You Kent and strengthen referral pathways. They will represent the service at local forums, events, and community meetings, contribute to co-production activities, and maintain accurate partnership records and databases.
The role will involve managing One You Kents social media platforms and digital communications, creating engaging and accessible content across websites, social media, email campaigns, and marketing materials. The postholder will work closely with ABLs central communications team to support campaigns, maintain digital platforms, and contribute to lead generation and service promotion, while identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
In addition, the postholder will support media and promotional activity by identifying opportunities, drafting press releases and case studies, and contributing to coverage across print, broadcast, and online channels. They will also monitor and report on engagement, referral, and digital performance activity, provide updates against targets, and work flexibly across the service, including supporting events and occasional evening or weekend work where required.
