To provide comprehensive clerical support to the Endoscopy department and perform receptionist duties to coordinate patients and visitors to the department.
Main duties of the job
- Reception duties to advise and direct all patients and visitors to the department.
- Open and distribute mail to relevant areas.
- Ordering and maintenance of stationary stock levels.
- Receive and sign for all deliveries to the department and inform relevant personnel.
- Answer internal and external telephone enquiries and redirect messages to appropriate personnel. This includes dealing with sensitive and confidential information and distressed clients/clients with special needs on a regular basis.
- Checks and enters patient details onto hospital system.
- Input patient details into Cerner/Solus system.
- Have a basic understanding of Endoscopy procedures.
- Produce operating lists from Cerner/Solus as required.
- Liaise with medical records/waiting list/ consulatants/Gps/Xray etc.
- Book patients in attending the unit including clients with special needs.
- Greet patients, relatives, and visitors.
- Compilation of admission packs and patient folders/charts.
