Job summary
Xyla Elective Care is seeking experienced Endoscopy Nurses to support weekend endoscopy and bowel screening services at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care across admission, procedure support, and recovery stages of the patient pathway.
This is an ongoing weekend opportunity, working Saturdays and Sundays from 08:30 to 17:00, supporting three endoscopy rooms. The role offers a competitive rate of £308 per day, with travel and accommodation reimbursement of up to £50 per shift.
You will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective patient care while supporting Consultants during procedures, administering sedation, completing clinical documentation, and assisting with patient recovery.
Main duties of the job
Deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway, including admission, procedure support, and recovery.
Support Consultants during endoscopic procedures and assist with the administration of sedation where required.
Complete patient assessments, observations, cannulation, and preparation prior to procedures.
Undertake accurate clinical documentation, reporting, and prescription-related activities within the unit.
Monitor patients during recovery and ensure they are fit for discharge in line with clinical protocols.
Escalate urgent clinical concerns and support multidisciplinary team (MDT) decision-making where appropriate.
Adhere to local policies, operational procedures, and patient safety standards, including completion of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist.
