An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Endoscopy Booking Office. We currently have a vacancy for an Admin Assistant to work 30 Hrs hours per week , 7.5 Hours per day 9am - 5pm the position is based at Eastbourne Hospital.

Days covered will need to be Thursdays and Fridays the other 2 week days can be discussed.

Certain days may be needed to support training in the beginning.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be motivated, hardworking and have excellent administration and communication skills. The successful candidate needs to be a strong team member, conscientious and have a flexible approach.  The main duties of this role is to provide an efficient and responsive admin support to the Endoscopy bookings team. Monitoring generic email accounts, adding waiting list entries to the PAS system and ensuring RTT clocks are started, being a point of contact for patients and colleagues, answering incoming calls and helping to monitor answer phone service. The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, have the ability to juggle priorities, to be a strong team member and excellent communication skills are essential.

Skills

Essential

  • Understanding of appointment systems.

Desirable

  • Understanding of diagnostic and operative procedures.

Experience

Essential

  • Use of electronic patient record systems such as the Patient Administration System (PAS)
  • Previous experience working in NHS/waiting list administration
  • Previous experience in dealing with members of the public.
  • Experience using specialist IT applications in the work place

Desirable

  • Previous experience dealing with people who may be distressed, upset or angry

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) to include English and Maths Grade C or above
  • A Level / NVQ 3 (or equivalent) Administration or Customer Service knowledge and experience
  • Additional training and skills to diploma level in IT

Desirable

  • Waiting List management experience
