A vacancy has arisen for a domestic to join our domestic team at The Grange within the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for staff members who are enthusiastic, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our teams.
The post holder will work across all Trust buildings to assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, trust staff, and visitors in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness, by delivering a full cleaning service within the centre.
The post available is Monday to Friday 6-8am
Main duties of the job
Domestics will undertake the following cleaning tasks and duties during a domestic clean:
- High and low-level dusting.
- Cleaning of offices and communal spaces.
- Dusting and polishing of shelves, picture frames, units etc.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Person specification
Experience
Essential
- Previous working experience with HACCP and COSHH
- Working knowledge of keeping track of cleaning materials
Desirable
- Previous experience of cleaning
- Previous experience working mental Health / Community Services or similar environment
Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Team player as well as being able to work on your own
- Confident, adaptable, and flexible in approach to working practices
Desirable
- Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems.
- Ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise/meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
- 2 GCSEs/O levels English and Maths or demonstrable experience
- Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
- Understanding of current Food Safety Legislation
Desirable
- Understanding of health promotion through healthy eating
