Hours available range from 15 to 20 hours per week
17.00-20.00/17.00-21.00
This shift pattern requires five shifts to be worked per week and may include weekend working
The post is based at Hillingdon Hospital.
- Carry out all routine cleaning duties at the prescribed times and compliance with the specific ward/department policies and procedures at all times including any changes to methods or frequencies of work scheduling.
- Liaise with ward hostess in any regard concerning services to the patients, for instance maintenance issues, requests etc.
- Use and care of approved cleaning materials and equipment at all times in accordance with the operator instructions.
Main duties of the job
Our domestic team take pride in ensuring all areas of the hospital meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all patient, visitor and staff areas. For these positions it is desirable to have previous cleaning experience but not essential, we can provide full training. You will however need to have:
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Be able to demonstrate good customer service skill
Job summary
To provide a domestic cleaning service to remove dust, dirt, debris, liquid to prevent the spread of infection, preserve the life of the building, fabric and furnishings whilst providing a clinical and/or socially acceptable hospital environment which includes wards, departments and public areas.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Able to effectively use cleaning chemicals & equipment eg vacuum cleaners,polishers,mops etc.
- Physically fit able to push trolleys,pull out beds,move light furniture to facilitate cleaning.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of using electrical floor cleaning equipment.
